The stubborn kid on the way

It was my birthday. I was standing on the side of a road with some of my friends waiting for more friends to join us…

Someone poked me. I checked angrily and asked what he wanted. It was a kid asking for some money.

I simply ignored him and continued the conversation with my friends. He waited for a while and again asked for money.

We again ignored him. Then he asked again and I gave him 10 Rupees. When I gave him a 10 rupees note, 3 friends of mine also gave money to him.

He ran back happily and I could not stop thinking of what he did. Unknowingly, the kid taught me the most important sales skills I have ever learned-

1. When the customer says I do not have time/ money, they do have it. Don’t leave it there. Give them all the options but just don’t give up

2. You have to be shameless if you have to sell something and you can do the best sales if you do not have any other option.

3. We have to approach the right person from the group, the one who is the decision-maker. If he/she is convinced then you can sell it to others too

4. If you get a NO, come on, get up and bounce back

5. Once you feel like you have got enough from the customer, close them positively instead of trying to sell more and more after saturation
